Brook VIllage proudly supports military-connected students and families during the critical early years of childhood development. We understand that military life often involves transitions, new environments, and changes in routine, and our staff is committed to creating a welcoming, nurturing, and supportive learning environment where every child can thrive.

As part of Wichita Falls ISD's Early Learning Program, Brook Village provides high-quality early childhood education designed to support school readiness, social-emotional development, language growth, and family engagement. Through strong partnerships with families, our campus works to ensure military-connected children receive the support necessary for successful transitions and positive early learning experiences. Brook Village is one of two WFISD Head Start campuses serving preschool-aged children and families.

Military Liaison Duties Include:

  • Serving as the point of contact and working collaboratively between military-connected students and their families and the campus.
  • Maintaining familiarity with enrollment processes, records transfer, existing community resources, and student support. 
  • Ensuring military-connected students are identified and properly coded through the Texas Student Data System Public Information Management System.
  • Determining campus-based support and services available to military-connected students based on their unique needs, including their high mobility.
  • Assisting in coordinating campus-based programs relevant to military-connected students.
  • Attending professional development or training annually to learn and understand topics related to the transition of military-connected students and their families.
  • Providing professional development opportunities for staff & faculty to better support military-connected students and their families.

Introduction to School Environment & Processes

Brook Village Early Childhood Center is committed to providing a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate learning environment where young children can grow academically, socially, emotionally, and physically. We understand that military-connected families may be transitioning to a new community, and our staff works closely with parents to help children feel welcomed, supported, and comfortable in their new school environment.

At Brook Village, students participate in engaging early learning experiences that promote school readiness, language development, social-emotional growth, creativity, and positive peer interactions. Teachers and support staff collaborate with families to establish consistent routines, communicate student progress, and address individual learning needs. Families are encouraged to maintain regular communication with teachers, participate in campus events and family engagement activities, and partner with school staff to support their child's success.

Military-connected families new to Wichita Falls are encouraged to contact the campus prior to enrollment so staff can provide information regarding campus procedures, available services, developmental support programs, transportation options, and resources that help ensure a smooth transition into the Brook Village community.

 

Tutoring Opportunities

Brook Village provides individualized support throughout the school day to help students develop foundational academic, social, emotional, and developmental skills. Teachers use ongoing observations and assessments to identify student needs and provide targeted instruction and intervention when appropriate.

Families are encouraged to work closely with teachers and staff to support learning both at school and at home. Additional resources and recommendations may be provided to help children continue developing important school readiness skills outside the classroom.

Parent Communication

ParentSquare serves as the primary communication platform between families, teachers, and administrators.

Parents may use ParentSquare to:

  • Communicate with teachers
  • Receive school announcements
  • Access important campus information
  • Stay informed regarding student activities and events

Attendance Zones

Attendance zones, boundary maps, and transfer information are available through the Wichita Falls ISD website.

Children of active-duty military personnel stationed at Sheppard Air Force Base may qualify for transfer opportunities in accordance with Board Policy FDB (LOCAL).

Student Record & Transcript Requests

Military families may request student records through Wichita Falls ISD's Records Request process.
